The University Hospital “Sagrat Cor” in the centre of the city of Barcelona, (H.U.S.C) is a prestigious hospital founded in 1879.

Since its creation it has been characterised by a significant commitment to healthcare but also for its teaching and university work as well as research.

The main characteristic of H.U.S.C. is its operation as a private clinic but with all the advantages of a modern hospital; it has outstanding technological facilities aimed at guaranteeing top quality healthcare and patient safety but without forgetting the warmth represented by personalised human treatment.

Barcelona Hospital is a private entity, owned by the Cooperative Society of Healthcare Facilities (SCIAS), built to meet the hospital and emergency needs of its owner-partners, who are, at the same time, insured by Assistència Sanitària Col·legial (a healthcare cooperative).

The clinic works as an open hospital that provides its services to all insurance companies, private patients and the Spanish National Health Service.

Technology is one of the tools that has most helped medicine to prevent and fight against disease. Located in a peaceful residential area in the upper part of the city of Barcelona, the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi area, the facilities of the International Centre of Advanced Medicine comprise two buildings: "La Masía", which has three floors and a basement under the garden; and the “main building”, a new building with a unique double-glazed façade structure.
